Feel about Long Yingtai (1)

I have to said that my ideology and culture value are totally changed after today's lecture by Long. I realize a very important concept that bother me a lot when I considered about the nation culture, globalization and democracy. The word from mayor of NY city, mentioned in her article, said that " what make an American an American? Not the nationality, not the race or the bloodline, it is the belief of live and legal system. The faith of diversification of religions, democratic system, capitalism and free ecomonic market fasen the Americans together."(判斷一個人蘊含的美國成分多寡,不是憑他的家譜,而是看他對美國的理念所信奉的程度。。。
I am moved by the speech. For a long time, I thought the identity of nationality is just from the moralism made by the govenment, in other word, by the people who hold the political power. But I am wrong. Under the central power of the Communist Party, I learn nothing about the central value to be a Chinese, only the surface value of nation and party. i understand why in HK and Taiwan, so many people they are anti-central govenment, they allege about democracy. Not only because they scare that Communist Party would restrict their freedom, but also they can't find or feel about the central value given by the govenment, or the identity of to be a Chinese. All the creeds from the gevenment are the dead things. To the end, they are the tool govenment can use to control the people and their mind. The Cultural Revelution, the 6.4 movement. If we can not have the clear intepertaion for these affairs, we can not totally establish the moral standard and national civilization to let the world accept us.
The self-identity of the people and the pure nationality are the diferent things. I like a sentence Long said in the article" A nation is not worthy of loving, if she not allow people not to love her."(國家是不值得愛的,如果它不容許人們不愛它)
I think I grown up more.
